Ass imtote
This is why I think we need a discussion forum. What does it mean that Asymptote can get written up like this?
When a corporation--say, the New York Stock Exchange--has a blue-sky project that no one else seems to understand, Asymptote tends to head the to-call list. As a result, most of the firm's architectural projects--it also dabbles in art--are not buildings but acrobatic proposals for buildings that push the limits of architectural theory.
On the one hand, hats off to them for playing the marketing game right. On the other, larger, bigger, more important hand, they're really awful. Most of me says they're giving hi-tech a bad name. The remainder of me wishes I worked for them.
Discuss (among yourselves for now).
