Among the design team for One Western Avenue, the contrast between the huge scale of the massing and the finery of the surface detailing (lacking what Campbell calls the "human scale") was known as the "Elephant-in-a-lace-teddy problem." Heh. Clever architects.
Robert Campbell makes a lot of good points, but should be enjoined against any ambitious uses of language in future articles.
