Chinese Spacecraft Armed with Guns and Knives

BEIJING (AFP) -- The astronaut aboard China's first ever manned space mission will be armed with a gun and knives in case the capsule comes down in hostile territory, a state-run newspaper said Friday.

Doesn't this suggest that perhaps we should postpone going out into space until we get this one planet figured out first? Or do you suppose China wants to move to another planet? Red China/Red Planet.
