Reality Games
Here's a disturbing concept, packaged along the lines of FoxNews' "Fair and Balanced" slogan.
Kuma Reality Games promises to release an FPS on a subscription model, re-creating actual scenarios from actual, recent military missions:
From the Headlines to your PC
Powerful, playable re-creations of real-world news events using the latest gaming technology and authentic news resources.
Timely, accurate and intense, Kuma: War presents our soldiers' acts of patriotism and bravery as never before possible.
The same immersive, first- and third-person views used by the military in their own planning, training and analysis.
Weekly updates directly to your PC -- experience breaking news as it occurs.
A bold news concept for an independent generation raised on PC games, Kuma: War allows you to experience the news, discover the facts and decide for yourself.
Nice, "decide for yourself." Or wait, do you think they'd incorporate all the paradoxes and moral dilemmas of war? A game winning means turning off the machine?
I've long wanted to make an online game that somehow sucks news from, say, news.google.com and rewards people for paying attention to the world. Then, maybe it would really be possible to "experience the news, discover the facts and decide for yourself."
