Life w/o Objects
Silly write-up.
'Superstudio': Rebels Who Saw the World as Being Too Full of ObjectsThe visual dimension of Superstudio's enterprise has not worn well. The group's ideas had their most potent visual expression in futuristic collages that must have seemed trippy in their time but look irretrievably dated today. Extended into tediously portentous films, two of which are being shown at Artists Space, the Superstudio vision starts to look overbearingly grandiose.
Missing the point. Anyway, here's the gallery info:
Superstudio: Life Without Objects' is at Artists Space, 38 Greene Street, SoHo, through Dec. 19, and at Pratt Manhattan Gallery, 144 West 14th Street, Greenwich Village, and Storefront for Art and Architecture, 97 Kenmare Street, Little Italy, through Jan. 31. Information: (212) 647-7778
Book available, too. Book = Less Walking.
