Modernism for Sale: Richard Mandel House by Edward Durell Stone

Stuck for a stocking stuffer for that special someone-who-already-has-everything? An intriguing not-so-little item came to us in the form of a letter from Eric Brill, current owner of the Edward Durell Stone-designed Mandel House in Westchester County, New York.

If you don’t have the $250,000 required to register to bid on Mies van der Rohe’s Farnsworth House when it goes on the auction block this Friday (estimated price: $4.5-$6 million), you might consider this gleaming white monument to Modernism – estimated price: $5.9 million.
