In a chessboxing fight two opponents play alternating rounds of chess and boxing. The contest starts with a round of chess, followed by a boxing round, followed by another round of chess and so on.

motivation?
The year is 2016. The Olympic summer games are taking place in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev. They culminate in the chess boxing heavyweight championship, and that with good reason. Sports scientists, chess and boxing analysts, sports journalists and of course the fans recognize chess boxing as the ultimate competitive sport, one unlike any other. Who would have expected this thirteen years ago, when the sport was first brought to life by a Dutch artist...
