A Museum Molded for Valley Forge (The Philadelphia Inquirer Online)
The task facing architect Robert A.M. Stern was daunting: design a museum to tell the story of the American Revolution but not interfere with the historic landscape at Valley Forge.
Today at Valley Forge National Historical Park, Stern and his staff are set to present a design that he says does all that - plus serves as a model for a 21st-century museum, embracing the past in a structure finely attuned to the future.
Gov. Rendell and historian David McCullough, along with Stern, will be on hand for the event. Officials said that groundbreaking for the $100 million project is expected sometime this year with completion two years later.
