The Memorial Roads Not Taken (nytimes.com)

I like the white pines memorial by the Yalies. Simple and clean. It'd be nice to get away from stone as the medium of memory. One day they'll figure that out. They've already figured it out in Kobe, but Japan's always a decade or two ahead of us.
