Interestingly, I've noticed that the AP has been putting out some pics lately that have a "Washington Gothic" vibe to them, with many Duchovnian elements besides Condie and her brow: umbrellas, tinted SUVs, secret service heavies, and backgrounds vaguely reminiscent of Arlington Cemetery (where Moral Reckoning happens, in Oliver Stone films). Also, a lot of recent shots seem to be taken perpendicularly or on the oblique--as if they are resisting the frontal, pointy-fingered, historically-resolute look that the Bushies like. It's sort of behind-the-scenes, perhaps implying guilt. Or maybe I'm just being optimistic.
