What's wrong with this picture?
That's right. It's Ronchamp. In China. Rui Da Lu seems to be conceived as a replica street of other famous buildings, including a "San Marco clocktower." The street is in the city of Zheng Zhou, in Henan Province.
I mean, after fake Rolexes, bags, and luxury goods, isn't fake architecture inevitable? Why shouldn't high design be treated as just another high-status consumable?
The effort, though, is staggering... after all, this is supposed to be one of the most geometrically complex buildings of the 20th century. How d'you think they actually made it?
