does this REMind you of anything?

The Inside Outside Team--a consortium consisting of Michael Maltzan, Mathias Lehner, Mirko Zardini, and Rem's girlfriend Petra Blaisse--has won the
Giardini di Porta Nuova competition in Milan on the merits of a scheme that might be called "OMA's Greatest Hits, 1990-2000."
It's a shameful mash of well-worn Dutch shoes: there are urban landscape/program clusters from Downsview Park; a mini Porto concert hall; a chunk of the Jussieu Library; long sticky tubes from Zeebrugge; Adrian Geuzue's path system (now with even less program!) from Schipol Airport; and a representational strategy that might have actually been nicked from a filing closet in OMA's Rotterdam office.
The project is described as "a systematic tying together of heterogeneous elements." Yawn. Nothing about this is surprising, except for the sheer amount of derivative behavior within the same community that makes sanctimonious claims for "radical and original solutions in architecture."
