Hoot Houses
Speaking of humanitarian architecture projects, here's a story on the BBC about
polystyrene houses for Afghanistan. Some foam, wrapped in chicken wire, then troweled with a little bit of concrete. Strong enough to hold a light pickup truck, earthquake-proof, and insulated like... well, it's nothing
but insulation.
