The legality of public light and sound
Interesting story in the nytimes about
guerilla drive-ins. Guys are using portable LCD projectors with RF transmitters (for sound) to create drive-in movie theaters on the fly. They drive up to an unused part of town, project a movie onto a wall and let others tune in on their FM radios. Police are mildly bothered, saying they're trespassing, but movie houses are pissed, of course. I guess we all could say, "Been there, done that," if only we weren't so lazy (and if only we had the strength to lift that damn 200-pound projector). Word is, movies are showing in Santa Cruz and Brooklyn.
