Jazzy

Went to a pre-opening soundcheck at the new Lincoln Jazz Center at Columbus Circle. The space itself is disappointing and blandly detailed, but the view over Columbus Circle is stellar, especially with the music going on. One (unexpected?) effect of the double curtain-wall: headlights in the rotary below reflect upwards and become superimposed to create an essential New York view. Too bad the jazz program is so cheesy and insipid.
