David Cumming
An email went around the office today from a guy whose uncle makes rather amazing things out of wood:
This is the work of my uncle whom I visited the other day in Toronto. He is a skilled carpenter and cabinetmaker who’s style includes using multiple woods for color (he rarely uses stains for this purpose) and texture and a technique called “dry bending” (as opposed to steam bending). He puts considerable thought into his work, but almost never reproduces anything. I believe he’s extremely talented. But, in the 30+ years he’s been working, he’s never sold a piece. I’d love to figure out some way of promoting him here, so any input is very welcome.
All of the photos in the enclosed pdf, are of his house, which he designed and built over a couple of years.
Your help in much appreciated. Thanks, Noble Cumming (Studio Red)

It's too bad
Nest closed its doors. It would have been prime material.
